Piedmont Medical Center at Fort Mill

This new $170 million Medical Center consists of an approximately 200,000-square foot, 100-bed hospital located on a green field site in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The facility consists of a 3-story patient tower with a large one-story ancillary area, including the central energy plant and canopies extending beyond the tower perimeter.

The new hospital facility includes: an emergency department, an admissions and registration unit, pre­ admission testing unit,  medical imaging unit, clinical lab, surgical suite, pharmacy, pre-op and recovery units, central sterile processing unit, inpatient dialysis unit, inpatient physical therapy and rehab unit, critical care, observation unit, medical/surgical, labor and delivery, dietary services, environmental services unit, supply chain, mail/copy room, security and transport facilities, plant operations / bio-med unit, clinical engineering, facility engineering and CEP, medical staff services facility, nursing administration facility, an information technology (IT) facility, volunteer resources facility, and other public areas.

Also included is an MOB adjacent to the new hospital.

An Integrated Project Delivery approach was utilized with recurring team meetings to discuss, evaluate, and coordinate the project.
