Drury Plaza Hotel

A new 22-story, 388-room, approximately 420,000-square foot hotel located in downtown Nashville at the corner of 3rd Avenue and Korean Veteran’s Blvd., with associated parking, lobby, back of house, dining, pool, spa & fitness, support spaces and 8,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel will include one below grade level with meeting spaces and back-of-house functions. The hotel portion (13-levels of guestrooms) sits above 6 levels of structured parking for approximately 310 cars, with an entry/lobby at the ground level. An amenity level with an outdoor pool, fitness area, restaurant and kitchen will be located above the parking levels on the eighth floor. The structural system consists of both one-way and two-way post-tensioned slabs. Several transfer beams were required at the amenity level. The foundation system consists of a combination of shallow footings and drilled piers bearing on rock. The foundation system was designed to accommodate a large diameter storm tunnel that crosses the site so that building loads were not transferred to the storm tunnel.
