Lodge at Paris Landing State Park

About This Project

This beautiful new hotel sits on the shores of Kentucky Lake. The lodge features 91 lakefront rooms, an outdoor pool, and a restaurant with a full bar. It’s a gateway to lakeside adventures, golfing, and more. The previous inn at Paris Landing was completely demolished and removed. The replacement facility has a main entrance structure and an adjacent wing with meeting spaces and support functions. Originally a 4-story guestroom wing with 65 rooms was designed on the opposite side of the main lobby and a 4-story, 24-room wing was later designed as an extension of the new West guestroom wing. The site soil and seismic parameters required the structure be designed per Seismic Design Category D requirements. The new construction consists of steel framing at the public areas and loadbearing cold-formed metal stud walls supporting composite slabs at the guestroom wings. The gabled roof areas were constructed with roof trusses. Lateral loads are resisted by concrete and CMU masonry shear walls. Due to the slope of the existing site, site retaining walls were required.

Highlights include gathering space in the oversized lobby for guests, visitors and local residents; larger meeting and conference space; and a diversified room mix including suites and family rooms. The building design accentuates the picturesque waterfront views of Kentucky Lake while supporting the park’s marina activities. Its proximity and central location to other park features will allow guests to maximize their stay and take advantage of all the amenities the park has to offer.
