15 Feb NEW ASSOCIATE PRINCIPALS ANNOUNCED
SDG is pleased to announce new Associate Principals Drew Hatton and Zak Pruitt.
In January of 2024, both were promoted to Associate Principal from prior positions of Project Managers in the firm.
Drew Hatton has been with SDG since 2012. He earned a Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio in 2011, where he also earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2008. Drew received the Senior Leadership Award in Civil Engineering from the Robe Leadership Institute and was a member of the Chi Epsilon Honor Society while at Ohio University.
Drew has 12 years of experience in the design of a variety of structural systems for healthcare and a wide range of other project types. He holds both a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and a Structural Engineer (S.E.) license. Drew is an Associate Committee Member of the industry standard publication ASCE 7 – Minimum Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures, serving on the Main Committee and Wind Loads Subcommittee. He’s also a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and the Structural Engineers Association of Tennessee.
Zak Pruitt began working for SDG in 2017 following his graduation from the University of Kentucky. Zak graduated magna cum laude from UK in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and earned his Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 2017. Zak holds both a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license and a Structural Engineer (S.E.) license. He is responsible for all phases of project design and management for a wide variety of projects at SDG. Zak has significant experience in the design of healthcare facilities across the country.
Zak is a member of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), the Structural Engineers Association of Tennessee (TNSEA), and is an Associate Committee Member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI) serving on the “Footings, Mats, and Drilled Piers” and “Anchorage to Concrete” committees.
