Civic / Community Experience

Structural Design Group has experience with the design of a variety of Civic and Community structures including sports facilities, recreation complexes, convention/conference centers, museums, libraries, municipal facilities, and religious facilities.

We’ve designed a number of athletic facilities ranging from indoor arenas, to football and baseball stadiums, to recreational and wellness center projects. SDG’s experience also includes Minor League stadiums for the Mississippi Braves at Trustmark Park and Birmingham’s Region Park Stadium Renovation. Football facilities include an addition to the Football Indoor Practice Facility at Ole Miss and a Stadium Addition at Mississippi Valley State University. Indoor facilities include the Pass Christian Boys and Girls Club, the Starkville Sportsplex, the Bowling Green Community Center, and Additions and Renovations to Rupp Arena in Lexington.

We’ve also designed a number of large convention and conference centers including the Jackson Convention Complex and Biloxi Civic Center and Library in Mississippi, and Lexington Civic Center Expansion and Hopkinsville Convention Center in Kentucky.

Our museum experience includes the new GRAMMY Museum Mississippi, Museum of Islamorada FL, and the Mississippi Museum of Art.

Additional municipal projects include the Long Beach Mississippi City Hall and Courthouse and the State of Mississippi Employment Security Commission Headquarters; new Libraries for the cities of LaVergne and Hendersonville, TN; Perry County, KY; and Jackson, MS; and several Fire Stations and Police Stations in Tennessee and Mississippi.

Recent religious facilities include First Baptist Church 6th and Broadway Addition in downtown Nashville and St. Stephen Catholic Community Additions and Renovation in Old Hickory, TN, and Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon, MS.
